Membership Matters
If you streamed the service last Sunday, you heard that there is one thing that CFC will change up a bit in 2025. For over a year, our leadership has been working to examine our formal membership process. After a lot of prayer and many conversations, the decision has been made for us to change the way we do membership at CFC. So much of this comes down to a desire to better know who we are accountable for according to the Word of God and to help the CFC Family better understand their own roles within the church. This will help us serve each of you – the members. We want to raise the bar relationally and be more accountable to one another.
If you are already a member and have signed our membership covenant at any time between 2021 and now, you won’t need to go through the new process. Our new process will start after Dale walks us through the “This Is Us” message series that we have just started. There will be a three-step process in order to be a member of CFC. The three steps are a 1-hour Intro-to-CFC Class, a 2.5-hour Membership Class (with a meal), and a meeting with a staff member or elder. We really do think this will benefit everyone!
While the Word of God isn’t prescriptive on how to do membership, we do believe we are more closely aligning with what the Word of God calls us to as a church through these changes.
At CFC, we believe that membership matters for a few reasons:
Don’t get it twisted – membership is for those who have committed their lives to Jesus; membership at CFC is obviously not connected to your salvation. Instead, membership describes a thriving part of the body of Christ at Christian Fellowship Church. Membership matters more than most people think! If you really want to be countercultural, you should consider going through this new membership process that will launch soon.
See the Intro-to-CFC class dates HERE. Find out more about the membership process HERE.
We look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday!

- In joining a church, we make our commitment to Christ and His people visible.
- It makes a powerful statement in the midst of a low-commitment culture.
- It gives us a deeper layer of accountability.
- It helps your pastors and elders to be more faithful shepherds.
- It gives you an opportunity to make and keep promises to pray, give, serve, and worship.
