Marriage Matters @ CFC

Marriage Matters @ CFC is a ministry for couples who need acute care. It is Christ-centered, biblically faithful, and gospel-focused counseling aimed at caring for the whole person. It's intended to be temporary counseling to help couples return to healthy functioning together in the context of the local body of believers.

What It Isn’t
  • This is not professional licensed mental health counseling (though we will refer people to this professional care).
  • This is not designed to be counseling you receive indefinitely.

What This Process Looks Like
  • Someone on our staff who is trained in counseling will meet with you to assess your level of need. You will be connected with resources in the church/community to help with your problems.
  • Depending on how much availability our counselors have, we may or may not be able to start counseling immediately. At minimum, you would receive direction of some next steps to take while waiting on counseling availability.
  • At this time, we are primarily serving CFC members only in this ministry. If you are not a member of CFC, we would still be happy to have one meeting with you to assess your need and point you to community resources.

Prior to meeting, both husband and wife will fill out the forms that you can find at the links below
  • Overview of the Problem Form - This is an online form only.
  • Personal Information Form - You may fill it out online or print the .pdf and handwrite the info.
  • Confidentiality/Disclosure Form - You may print, sign, and bring in, or you may fill it out when you get here.

Fees
  • This is a ministry of CFC that is funded by the faithful giving of our members. There are no fees associated with this ministry. However, it will cost you something; it will cost you time, energy, and your pride, but those costs will be worth it.  As Jesus says, “If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.” (Matthew 16:25 NLT)
  • If as a result of the counseling you receive you feel compelled to give financially, please consider giving to the general offering of the church (which is what makes this ministry possible).

If you have questions about the forms or the process, please email Reid Schultheis.
