What an Encouragement - Membership Class

This past Sunday, we had 146 adults sign up to go through our membership class, and that is a reason to celebrate and praise God! We are sharing this so that you can be encouraged that God is doing some awesome things at CFC. This response to membership is evidence of His work. The demographic variety was a blessing to see, as we had college students, young families, and senior adults all in attendance.

Cliff Herring, one of our elders, had this to say about the class:

Having been connected with Christian Fellowship Church in several capacities from the early 1980s until now, I've stood in awe of what God has done over the years through many “inaugural” events. It has encouraged me to see and hear about how God shows His faithfulness from historic events such as the first Sunday -- which saw over 450 show up in 1974 -- to the new building in the late 1970s, a building expansion in 2001, all the way to a celebration of the church's 50th anniversary in 2024.

I stand in awe of what God has done, and we are so blessed at times to see God's authenticity when He chooses to go over and above our expectations. I had a firsthand opportunity to witness that on Sunday, March 16, during our inaugural redesigned membership class. Early expectations anticipated a modest 40 to 50 to attend, but God showed His power and compassion as well over 140 people attended. These new member candidates were witnesses to a great event overflowing with fresh, creative, and innovative ways to present our vision by the staff and elders at CFC. A broad cross-section of insights showed what it means to be a part of Christian Fellowship Church, including core values, discipleship, serving, giving, missions, baptism, and communion.

To be able to personally witness dozens of tables filled with people chatting about what God wants to do next in their journey of faith was inspiring. Membership is a vital part of who we are as a church, and this new venture — dare I say adventure — set such an amazingly high standard that I believe will benefit so many in our congregation for years to come.”

CFC, we have so much to be thankful for! We hope this update provides encouragement for you and give you something to praise God for in your prayers this week. As always, let us know how we can serve you. We can't wait to worship with you Sunday!
