Our Heart & Motivation

As we prepare to begin our upcoming teaching series on money, we wanted to share our heart and motivation with you before we open God's Word together. This sermon series kicks off the new year by exploring biblical characters who wrestled with wealth to reveal a vital truth: loving money leads to trouble, but using it as a resource to serve with generosity brings freedom and blessing. Through their stories, we'll learn to trust God as our Provider, guard against the idolatry of riches, endure loss with integrity, experience the transforming power of redemption, and give with His mission in mind.

We want to be clear, though. We wanted to talk about money when we are in a season of thankfulness for the position we are in at CFC financially. This series is not a response to a need or a shortfall, and it’s not part of an agenda to increase giving. By God’s grace, we have seen His faithfulness through your generosity, and we are deeply thankful for the way our church family has responded with joy and obedience.

This series flows not from pressure, but from discipleship. Jesus spoke often and clearly about money—not because He wanted something from people, but because He wanted something for them. Scripture teaches us that how we think about, steward, and trust God with our resources is deeply connected to our spiritual formation and our worship. Our desire is to faithfully teach the whole counsel of God and help one another grow as disciples who live with open hands and anchored hearts.

We hope you will enter this series without suspicion or concern, but instead with expectancy. Our prayer is that God will use His Word to bring clarity, encouragement, and deeper trust in Him—not guilt, pressure, or obligation. Thank you for your faithfulness, your generosity, and your partnership in the gospel. We are grateful to walk this journey together as a church family.

We can't wait to share the record-setting numbers for the Food Drop and Christmas Eve offerings this year. CFC, we can't thank the Lord enough for your faithfulness and generosity.

With gratitude and confidence in God’s provision, we are looking forward to worshiping with you this weekend!
