Study Questions for May 25, 2025

Read Revelation chapters 21 and 22.

From Revelation 21:1-2 and Revelation 22:1-2:
  • How do the images of the New Jerusalem as a bride and the river of life flowing from God’s throne help us understand the beauty and vitality of God’s new creation?
  • What does this vast description say about the way God will bring about the transformation of all things?

In Revelation 21:3-4, God promises to dwell with His people and wipe away every tear.
  • How does the description of the tree of life in Revelation 22:2, with its healing leaves, complement this promise of God’s presence and comfort?
  • Share a time when you experienced God’s presence in a moment of pain or struggle.

Revelation 21:5 declares, “Behold, I am making all things new,” and Revelation 22:5-6 emphasizes God’s faithfulness with “these words are trustworthy and true.”
  • How does this relate to the words of Jesus in Matthew 4:4?
  • How do these assurances shape our trust in God’s promises?
  • What areas of your life need the hope of God’s renewal today?

Revelation 21:6-7 speaks of God as the Alpha and Omega, offering living water to the thirsty and inheritance to overcomers. In Revelation 22:1-3, the river of life and the absence of the curse point to God’s provision.
  • How do these passages encourage us to persevere in faith?
  • What does it mean to be an “overcomer” in your current circumstances?

Both Revelation 21:1-7 and Revelation 22:1-6 point to a future where sin, death, and suffering are no more.
  • How can the vision of the new creation motivate us to live differently now, such as in our relationships, service, or sharing the gospel?
  • What is one specific action you feel called to take in response to this vision?
