Students Matter at CFC
Students matter at CFC — They always have and always will!
The month of May has come to an end. This means that summer events for Student Ministries are about to begin! Our Student Ministry Team is very excited about the opportunities we have for our middle school, high school, and college students this summer.
We will kick off the month of June with two trips to Holiday World. Our High School Ministry (HSM) will be making their way to Santa Claus, IN on June 4, and our Middle School Ministry (MSM) will be going on June 5. This is a fun event for our students to enjoy a day in the park with each other and with volunteers from our ministries. May 30 is the deadline to sign up.
HSM will be having events most Wednesdays of the summer. These events are an awesome opportunity for students to get to know each other in a fun, laid back atmosphere. There will be events like a night of sand volleyball (6/18), a drive-in movie (6/25), and a Cardinals game (7/30). HSM will also be heading to Holland, Michigan for the CIY Conference again this year. They will be taking 87 people (students and leaders combined) from June 30 - July 5. This is one of the best weeks of the year. Students will be able to hear from incredible preachers, engage with God’s Word, and build community with each other. This year, the theme is “In Between.” They will be diving into the book of Hebrews and learning how to live their lives for Jesus in the here and now – in the in between.
MSM will be hosting events on most Thursdays this summer. Some of these include a pickleball and game night (6/24), a trip to Sky Zone (7/3), and a night at Walther's (7/17). Each of these events are organized with the hope and goal that students will leave feeling engaged in a community that loves Jesus. Though these events are fun, our favorite weeks of the summer are when we get to go to camp! MSM will be taking 63 people (leaders and students combined) to Crossings Camp in Bagdad, KY from June 16-20. This year’s theme will be “Here and Now.” Students will be guided through the truths presented in 1 Peter and called to live a life of radical holiness in their everyday lives.
Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about our college-aged friends! This summer, our College Ministry will be meeting on Tuesday evenings at CFC from 7-9PM. The first hour is a relaxed time of playing pickleball in the gym and hanging out in our coffee shop followed by a time of Bible study for the second hour. We’ll be going through a study by John Mark Comer called “Practicing the Way.” Our goal and hope for this study is for our students to gain tools to help them implement spiritual disciplines in their lives so that they can become more like Jesus. Our College Ministry is not just for those who are enrolled in a university; anyone 18-25 years old is welcome to join our ministry!
