Read Galatians 5 and 6

Concerning Galatians 5:1, what does Paul mean by “freedom” in this context?
  • How can we distinguish between true Christian freedom and the misuse of freedom as a license to sin?
  • How had your life succeeded and failed in your understanding and application of Christian freedom?

In Galatians 5:16–18, Paul urges believers to “let the Spirit guide your lives" (walk by the Spirit) to avoid the desires of the sin nature.
  • What are some practical ways we can rely on the Holy Spirit in our daily lives to experience the freedom Christ offers? 
  • Share an example of a time when you felt guided by the Spirit.

Galatians 5:13–14 calls us to use our freedom to “serve one another in love,” fulfilling the law through love.
  • How can we practically live out this call to serve others in our church, workplace, or community? 
  • What barriers might prevent us from using our freedom to love others, and how can we overcome them?

According to 1 Corinthians 8:9, how would you describe the challenge of Christian freedom from this single verse of scripture?
