CFC's 50th Anniversary Message Notes

The Next 50 Years – David Niednagel

1Thessalonians 1:2-3 (ESV)
We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, 3 remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Maturity is measured by work … labor … and steadfastness, which are motivated by Faith,.. Love,… and hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Faith is more than “spirituality,” it is trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

LORD - Yahweh. God’s self-chosen name.
• Exodus 3:14 “God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”
• John 8:58 Before Abraham was, I AM.
• The One who IS. The Real One.

John 1:3-4 (ESV)

“All things were made through him/JESUS, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.”

Colossians 1:16 (ESV)
—all things were created through him and for him.”

Life, Light, Purpose are in Jesus!

Jesus - Yeshua,
Matthew 1:21 (ESV)
“you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”

• Sin is fatal. 100% of the time. Forever. Except for one person.
• Jesus. He was perfect.
• He exchanged places with sinners

Romans 5:8 (ESV)

“God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

2Corinthians 5:21 (ESV)
“For our sake He (the Father) made Him (the Son) to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Christ - Messiah. Greatest King! King of Kings, Lord of Lords. Brings Judgment Day
Jn 3:16 “whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting Life.”

Love - agape - more than feelings, it is a commitment - to do what is best.

Romans 5:8 (ESV)

“God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

We are called to love all those He died for - Jew and Gentile, slaves and their slave masters, all ethnicities.

Not everyone is forgiven. Only those who admit and cry out for mercy in Christ.

Hope - confidence - that He is victorious and coming again for all who trust in Him.

1 Peter 1:3b (NLT)

“In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”

John 16:33b (NLT)
“Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.””

2 Corinthians 1:9 (NLT)
“..We expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.”

Homecoming – Dale Beaver

Ezra 7:8-10 (NLT)

Ezra arrived in Jerusalem in August of that year. He had arranged to leave Babylon on April 8, the first day of the new year, and he arrived at Jerusalem on August 4, for the gracious hand of his God was on him. This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the Law of the Lord and to teach those decrees and regulations to the people of Israel.
