God Is the Owner of Everything
Is God really the owner of everything? YES! From the beginning to the end, Scripture emphasizes God’s ownership of everything. Consider carefully the cumulative weight of these verses:
The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it.
The world and all its people belong to him.
Psalm 24:1 (NLT)
“Look, the highest heavens and the earth and everything in it all belong to the LORD your God.”
Deuteronomy 10:14 (NLT)
“The land must never be sold on a permanent basis, for the land belongs to me. You are only foreigners and tenant farmers working for me.”
Leviticus 25:23 (NLT)
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.
1 Chronicles 29:11-12 (NLT)
Who has given me anything that I need to pay back?
Everything under heaven is mine.
Job 41:11 (NLT)
For all the animals of the forest are mine,
and I own the cattle on a thousand hills.
I know every bird on the mountains,
and all the animals of the field are mine.
If I were hungry, I would not tell you,
for all the world is mine and everything in it.
Psalm 50:10-12 (NLT)
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.
Haggai 2:8 (NLT)
Randy Alcorn, in his book Managing God's Money, says, “It’s hard to imagine a more comprehensive declaration of absolute divine ownership of everything. Furthermore, search carefully and you won't find a single verse of Scripture that suggests God has ever surrendered his ownership to us!” Randy goes on to say, “If we really believe God is the owner of all that has been entrusted to us, shouldn’t we be regularly asking Him, ‘What do you want me to do with your money and your possessions?’”
When it comes to giving throughout the years, our church family has embodied what it looks like for God to be the owner of everything. The people of CFC have always generously given to the ministry of this church.
Since our staff and elders are not aware of what each person gives, it is hard to acknowledge and thank you as much as we would like to on a personal level. So, please let this hit you PERSONALLY! Please hear our hearts: Thank you, CFC family, for your generous and faithful giving. We will continue to steward those gifts well.
Here at CFC, we want to make our Operations Financial Report available to you each quarter. You can review our third quarter report HERE or pick up a copy at The Center. As always, if you have any questions after reviewing the report, please reach out to us.
