A New Initiative

CFC has always had a heart for raising up and training the next generation of leaders. This is evident in the care we pour into our children and youth, as well as the efforts we make to disciple and train adults. This is a huge part of how we live out our mission to “glorify God by making disciples of all people.”

We’re excited to announce a new ministry that will take us into the next chapter of our efforts to raise up and train the next generation of church leaders. We are in the planning phase of a new ministry that will equip leaders for kingdom-focused ministry through either an intensive internship or residency here at CFC.

The interns (who will be called “apprentices”) will participate in a part-time, one-year program intended to help them explore and confirm a calling into vocational ministry, while also providing them with opportunities to engage in real ministry.

The residency will be a two-year program designed for individuals who have either completed their undergraduate studies or completed a year as an apprentice at CFC. Residents will be full time, and their program will focus on building ministry skills to prepare them for a lifetime of kingdom-focused ministry. In total, we’re prepared to take on up to twelve apprentices and residents at a time in this new training program.

These young ministry leaders will have real responsibilities in the roles they take on here at CFC in order to help them build real ministry skills. They will be under the supervision of seasoned ministry leaders. As they do this, we’ll provide an environment that is set up for their success. We are excited about the opportunity to build into our apprentices and residents to help to prepare them for a lifetime of ministry. We believe that sending out leaders who have been equipped and poured into will strengthen the Kingdom in our region and build God’s Church.

We’re also excited to announce that Adam Christian, our Adult Ministry Team Leader, has agreed to step into the role of overseeing this ministry. We believe his educational background and ministry experience will help him to thrive in this role, and we can’t wait to see where the program goes under his leadership. In the coming months, we’ll be looking to fill his current position so that he is able to devote his full attention to making sure this new ministry is set up to succeed.

There are still a lot of details to work out, but we hope you’ll join us in praying for this ministry as we continue to plan. Please pray for Adam as he steps into his new role, for the apprentices and residents who will join us as we launch this program, and for the lives they will touch as they engage in lifelong ministry to share our mission to glorify God by making disciples of all people.

We can't wait to see you Sunday, CFC!
