Study Questions for June 29, 2025

Read: Matthew 6:24-34

Jesus asks in Matthew 6:27, “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”
  • How does worry challenge your trust in God’s faithfulness?
  • Share some current worries you have.
  • Read Lamentations 3:22-23   How might applying this verse help you with your daily challenges of worry?

In Matthew 6:26, Jesus points to God’s care for birds, emphasizing our greater value.
  • Share a personal story of a time when you experienced God’s faithful provision (e.g., a need met, strength given).
  • How can keeping a “faithfulness list" help you trust God more and find peace?

Matthew 6:33 urges us to “seek the Kingdom of God above all else.”
  • How does trusting in God’s faithfulness free you to focus on His priorities?
  • How might serving others help you "get outside" of your worry?
  • Discuss one practical step you can take this week to live righteously or serve others, drawing on Hebrews 10:23.

Philippians 4:6-7 promises God’s peace when we pray instead of worrying.
  • How have you experienced peace by trusting in God’s faithful care?
  • "Mental health" is a huge concern in our society today, and we have come a long way in addressing it, with a long way still to go.  In this regard, correct thinking theologically can address and shape our psychology.  Do you agree that the words of Jesus here validate such an understanding?  
  • What is your personal experience with "mental health" or those who struggle with it?
