Middle School Ministry

Small Group Leader

Middle School Small Group Leaders build meaningful relationships with students by being present, by actively participating in activities, and by leading thoughtful discussions on each week’s topic. This is a weekly commitment that focuses on meeting students where they are at and leading them to follow Jesus and own their faith.
The Win: Invest in a group of students by creating an environment where students are seen, heard, loved, and encouraged to develop an authentic faith.

This is the right role for you if:
  • You love Jesus and are growing in your relationship with Him.
  • You love middle school students and have a passion to help them grow in their faith.
  • You are patient, relational, and don’t take yourself too seriously.
  • You love to have fun.

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Serve at the scheduled Core@4 gatherings.  
  • Foster a safe and welcoming environment for students.
  • Connect relationally with the students in your group.
  • Encouraging active participation and engagement during games, activities, and discussions.
  • Plan ahead and be prepared to lead each small group discussion.
  • Participate in leader meetings and training opportunities.

Time Commitment: 2 ½ hours per week on Sunday nights during the school year. 30 minutes per week of preparation time reviewing materials provided by the staff.

Summer Camp Leader

Middle School Summer Camp Leaders assist the MSM Director in leading students at summer camp

The Win: Invest in a group of students by creating an environment where students are seen, heard, loved, and encouraged to develop an authentic faith.

This is the right role for you if:

  • You love Jesus and are growing in your relationship with Him.

  • You love middle school students and have a passion to help them grow in their faith.

  • You love spending time at camp.

  • You are flexible and able to follow direction while ensuring a positive camp experience.

  • You are patient, relational, and don’t take yourself too seriously.

  • You love to have fun.


Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Participate in 1-2 pre-camp leader meetings.

  • Serve the entire week of camp.  

  • Connect relationally with the students in your cabin.

  • Encourage all students to actively participate and engage during games, activities, chapel, and discussions.

  • Lead small group discussions.

  • Have life on life conversations with students.


Time Commitment: June 16-20, 2025

Mission Trip Leader

Middle School Mission Trip Leaders assist the MSM Director in leading students on mission trips.

The Win: Invest in a group of students by creating an environment where students are seen, heard, loved, and encouraged to develop an authentic faith while serving others.

This is the right role for you if:

  • You love Jesus and are growing in your relationship with Him.

  • You love middle school students and have a passion to help them grow in their faith.

  • You love people and are passionate about meeting the needs of people.

  • You are flexible and able to follow directions while ensuring a positive mission trip experience.

  • You are patient, relational, and don’t take yourself too seriously.

  • You love to work hard and have fun.


Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all pre-trip leader and student meetings.

  • Serve for the duration of the trip.  

  • Connect relationally with the students on the trip.

  • Encourage all students to actively participate and engage during work assignments, planning sessions, ministry opportunities, games, activities, and discussions.

  • Lead small group discussions as needed.

  • Have life on life conversations with students.

High School Ministry

High School Sign Deliverer 

Help welcome new students by delivering and placing a “SNL” sign in their yard while they are at CFC. This serves as a welcome home surprise when the night is over. We attempt to provide a route that is best depending on where the sign deliverer lives, but this is not always possible.
The Win: Serving behind the scenes to make high school students feel valued after coming for the first time.  

This is the right role for you if:
  • You enjoy serving behind the scenes
  • You enjoy being the hands and feet of Jesus outside the 4 walls of the church

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Picking up signs from CFC
  • Driving signs to appropriate addresses and sticking signs in front yards prior to student returning home after programming.

Time Commitment: Multiple options. Options to volunteer weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or on as need basis.

Volunteers Needed: 4-5

Student Ministry Tech

Controls audio of microphones & band to ensure a worshipful environment.
The Win: Serving students & leaders by limiting technology distractions so members are enabled to better focus on service.  

This is the right role for you if:
  • You enjoy working with technology.
  • You have a desire to help create a worshipful environment for this attending.

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Using the sound board to correctly adjust volumes and/or frequencies to help create a special worship environment for those present.

Time Commitment: You will be scheduled by our Student Ministry Worship Director who will work with your availability.

Volunteers Needed: There is no maximum or minimum number of volunteers needed

Additional Requirements: Background Check Required. 

Student Ministry Graphics Operator 

Controls computer graphics, lyrics, message notes, and videos that guide the students in our services. There are opportunities to serve in Middle School Ministry & High School Ministry.
The Win: Providing students & leaders by limiting technology distractions so members are enabled to better focus on service.  

This is the right role for you if:

  • You enjoy working with technology.
  • You have a desire to help create a worshipful environment for this attending.

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Using ProPresenter to navigate song lyrics, videos, announcements, and message notes

Time Commitment: You will be scheduled by our Student Ministry Worship Director who will work with your availability.

Volunteers Needed: There is no maximum or minimum number of volunteers needed

Additional Requirements: Background Check Required. 

High School Summer Camp Leader

Serve and lead student at our annual summer camp, Christ in Youth (CIY).
The Win: Having a front row seat to spiritually leading high school students in a pivotal week of their lives.

This is the right role for you if:
  • You enjoy a summer camp atmosphere
  • You are willing to travel out of town
  • You are comfortable with doing life on life with high school students

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Guiding students in deeper discussion based off sermons
  • Checking in to gauge where students are spiritually
  • Modeling a Christ-like presence to high school students
  • Leading students to a deeper commitment of Jesus.

Time Commitment: 1 week long for 1 week out of the year

Volunteers Needed: As needed basis

Student Ministry Worship Team

If you have musical giftings, this is a great spot to serve! In this volunteer opportunity, you will join others in leading students in musical worship on Sunday afternoon / evenings. We have a band each Sunday. There is a tryout prior to being scheduled.
The Win: Leading others in musical worship to a deeper devotion to Jesus Christ.  

This is the right role for you if:
  • Have musical giftings
  • Enjoy working with others in the band

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Commitment to practicing with the band
  • Leading worship for Pre-Teen, MSM, & HSM on Sundays

Time Commitment: You will be scheduled by our Student Ministry Worship Director who will work with your availability.  

Volunteers Needed: There is no max amount of volunteers

Additional Requirements: Must agree to sign CFC Doctrinal Statements, Background Check Required.

 MSM & HSM Meal Server

Help serve food to middle school or high school students during their Sunday evening gatherings.
The Win: Helping to provide students with a meal that spurs on time of fellowship.

This is the right role for you if:
  • Have a passion for serving others in a behind the scenes way
  • You enjoy working with food
  • You enjoy collaborating with others while serving

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Helping prepare the chosen food for the Sunday evening gathering
  • Serving the food to students
  • Helping clean up kitchen / coffee shop after food is served

Time Commitment: Approximately 2 hours on a Sunday. Options to serve bi-weekly, monthly, once a semester, whenever schedule allows.  

Volunteers Needed: There is no maximum amount of volunteers for this role.

Additional Requirements: Background Check Required. 

High School Discipleship

Walking alongside a student one-on-one or in a small group to help them grow in their love for and devotion to Jesus.
The Win: Personally connecting with a high school student to guide them to Jesus. A special privilege to seeing God work in the hearts of a high school student to grow spiritually.  

This is the right role for you if:
  • You prefer smaller groups of people
  • You enjoy guiding others in a knowledge of Scripture 
  • You have a desire to personally invest in a high school student

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Helping a student learn how to read Scripture
  • Assessing where a student is spiritually and meeting them there
  • Modeling what it looks like to follow Jesus in your own personal life

Time Commitment: This is dependent on students’ availability. Some people meet weekly and other meet on a different frequency depending on availability.  

Volunteers Needed: No specific amount.

High School Event Preparation

Help create meaningful and memorable experiences for students by assisting with planning, setup, decoration, and logistics for events and gatherings. This behind-the-scenes role is perfect for someone who’s organized, dependable, and passionate about supporting youth in their faith journey. Your efforts will help build a welcoming and impactful environment for teens to grow in community and in Christ.
The Win: Having a significant role in helping shape/prepare special experiences for high school students to encounter Jesus more deeply!

This is the right role for you if:
  • You enjoy working in a team environment
  • You enjoy hands on projects
  • You are willing to put others first and take on behind-the-scenes work

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Arriving to events early and helping with any necessary set up

Time Commitment: As needed basis for special events (Winter Retreats, Prayer Nights, Summer/Fall Kickoff, etc)

Volunteers Needed: No maximum

High School Small Group Leader 

This is a weekly commitment, focused on building relationships with high school students and facilitating a small group following a message. This role focuses on meeting students where they are at and guiding them to a greater understanding of Jesus Christ and how He impacts their life.
The Win: Having a front row seat to seeing / experiencing spiritual growth in the lives of high school students.

This is the right role for you if:
  • Have a passion for spiritually leading high school students
  • Enjoy building relationships with high school students
  • Desire to see the next generation follow Jesus

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Guiding students through God’s Word
  • Facilitating discussion so all students feel seen and cared for
  • Modeling a Christ-like presence to high school students
  • Helping students follow Jesus on a personal level

Time Commitment: Leading a small group on a weekly basis throughout the school year.

Volunteers Needed: Dependent upon returning leaders from previous year.

College Ministry

Discipler 

As much as our students love our Tuesday evening studies, they have a hunger for more. Students are seeking personal relationships with strong Christians that can help them grow in their walk with the Lord. The goal is to place students with spiritually mature volunteers to meet with. This can be one on one or with a small group (2-4) of students. This time would be a time to discuss life, read scripture and pray!
The Win: Students are better connected to the Church, can read Scripture for themselves and have grown in their relationship with the Lord.

This is the right role for you if:

  • You are spiritually mature and have an avenue of being poured into
  • You are passionate about making disciples in the next generation.
  • You are able to be a consistent figure in college aged adults lives.
  • You are patient!

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Invest in the lives of college aged adults at CFC.
  • Meet with one or more students on a consistent basis.
  • Communicate with Becca or Reid about the needs of their discipleship relationship.
  • Help lead a study with the specific students they are meeting with.
  • Be a friend!

Time Commitment: The goal is to place students with spiritually mature volunteers to meet weekly or bi-weekly for 1-2 hours.

CFC Doctrinal Statement

Tuesday Night Cook 

Each study, during the school year, we like to serve our students a home-cooked meal. This gives them a sense of home, an opportunity to eat off campus and a free dinner! Dinner also serves as an opportunity for our students to fellowship together. Our goal is to have volunteers of CFC prepare and create meals for our Tuesday evening Bible Studies.
The Win: Students have home-cooked meals and experience fellowship through them. Though these meals may seem ordinary, they quickly become a holy moment in our studies!

This is the right role for you if:
  • You are proficient in cooking.

  • You have availability to prepare food on Tuesday evening by 6:15-6:30pm.

  • You are creative in cooking for large groups.

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Prepare food for 50-70 college aged adults.

  • Communicate with Becca on what you plan to prepare.

  • Shop for all ingredients necessary for the intended meal.

  • Turn in receipts to Becca to be reimbursed for everything you have purchased.

  • Pray for our ministry as you prepare meals.

Time Commitment: One or two Tuesdays a semester for 2-3 hours on average. The time is dependent on what the cook decides to make.

College Lunch 

Once a month during the school year, a group of volunteers from the congregation prepare a home cooked meal for our college aged adults. The students then eat in the gym after the 10:45am service.
The Win: Students have home-cooked meals and experience fellowship through them!

This is the right role for you if:
  • You are proficient in cooking.
  • You have availability to prepare a dish for one Sunday afternoon a month.
  • You are creative in cooking for large groups.


Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Prepare one dish to go along with the rest of the meals.
  • Communicate with Charlotte Pfeffer and the rest of the volunteers.
  • Shop for all ingredients necessary for the intended dish.
  • Pray for our ministry as you prepare the dish.

Time Commitment: Once a month.
