Finding Your Place on the Path

Global Outreach

Global Missions

Missionary Care Team Member

The CFC missions program is intentionally designed to connect each person of CFC directly with each missionary, whom we call our “global staff families”. We would like to see each of our members be moved in the heart to identify one global staff family to know, pray for, and consider ways they may be able to show care for them. In this way we all might “hold the rope” as they hang off the other end of the rope over the edge of some corner of the world. One of the most important ways we are seeking to show the Lord’s faithful care for our missionaries is identifying those who would serve as a Care Team for each of the families. These care teams will be led by a captain.
The Win: We can remember that our global staff families and partners have left everything back home to follow Jesus. At the same time, they face most if not all of the same challenges that we all do. These stresses are intensified by cross-cultural life. This is where you come in - with all of our prayer and communication, with kindness and big hearts.

This is the Right role for you if:
  • Have an interest in global outreach
  • Have a heart to provide care for our missionaries, with others who will share the work
  • You would like to serve with your family, helping your kids learn about missions and know missionaries
  • Can stay in touch with our missionaries and their families faithfully (once a month)
  • Can pray for and advocate for their financial support needs (as one is willing and able)
Volunteer Responsibilities (in coordination with a team of others who help carry the load):
● Develop a healthy, personal relationship with the missionary and if possible, their kids
● Communicate with the missionary regularly (once a month) to understand how they are doing and what their personal, spiritual, and emotional needs might be (along with their kids)
  • Prayerfully ask the Lord to abundantly provide the support needs of His workers
● Pray for the missionary regularly based on knowledge of them
● Affirm and encourage their work
● Ask the missionary if there are ways they would like to be better connected to CFC
● Update the missionary about changes around CFC
● Consider sending notes, birthday/anniversary/encouragement cards from CFC (all staff can sign them)
● Work with the Missions Team Lead or other staff to address relevant issues with them while they are on the field
● Provide Power Connection updates - or encourage the global staff to share those updates
● Arrange Support Team activities (i.e. if they are in the area, can help with airport arrival and departure, meals, prayer)
● Assist in Beautiful Feet class presentation
● Organize a welcome party at the airport or church when the missionary returns home
● Arrange accommodation and/or a car if necessary upon return
● Encourage small group and other church members in Beautiful Feet class, etc. to invite them out for meals or outings, or provide childcare for a missionary family so couples can have a night out
  • Optional: supporting one global staff family financially as little as $1 per week.

Time Commitment:
Once a month, once a week when missionaries are visiting in town
