Study Questions for November 2, 2025

  • What is the definition of the word glory? What are some passages of Scripture that come to mind that speak about God’s glory? (There are over 600 in the Bible).
  • Is God selfish for wanting all the glory? Why or why not? Have you ever considered/struggled with this?
  • God in and of Himself is self-deferential. The life of the Triune God is a glory, not of demand, but of deferring to the other. The Father glorifies the Son. The Son the Father, the Holy Spirit the Father and the Son. God’s glory is a glory of self-deferential love, not demanding love. See this in the following Scriptures. (Matthew 3:17, John 17:5 and surrounding, John 15:26 and surrounding). Marvel in this as a group.
  • This week, how you can you glorify God by resting in His salvation? (Isaiah 30:15) How does the meaning of kavod/glory as “weight” help you understand your rest from the weight of your sin and suffering?
  • This week, how can you glorify God by reflecting His character?
  • This week, how can you glorify God by reaching His world?
