Food Insecurity IS HERE in the TriState

As we approach Thanksgiving, we are excited to do what we do every year: our annual Thanksgiving Offering and Food Drop! Will you partner with us again to express your thankfulness to the Lord by blessing others in the Tri-State? God has blessed most of us here at CFC with a home, plenty to eat, clean water, and many other things, but there are many in the world, and even here in the Evansville area, who don’t have as many material comforts and who don’t have enough to eat.

We may not be aware of the staggering numbers, but food insecurity is very real in our country. A few statistics really speak to why we do the Food Drop each year. You can see more research from the USDA HERE. To summarize, in 2023, 47.4 million people in the United States lived in food-insecure households, 12.2 million adults lived with very low food security, and 7.2 million children lived in food-insecure households.

We are grateful for the many food pantries and shelters in the Tri-State that help supplement the food supply for families and individuals, and CFC wants to restock their shelves!

Isaiah 58:10 - "If you give some of your own food to [feed] those who are hungry and to satisfy [the needs of] those who are humble, then your light will rise in the dark, and your darkness will become as bright as the noonday sun."

So how can you help us to provide food to the over 30 food pantries we plan to serve? We are collecting a special monetaryThanksgiving offering that will be used to buy semi-loads of food that we will deliver at our annual Food Drop. Consider making an offering above your normal giving that you give in thankfulness for how the Lord has blessed you. You can put “Thanksgiving Food Drop” on the memo line of your check, or you can choose it on the GIVE PAGE of our website. 100% of these gifts will go toward this project.

Please give by Sunday, December 1 so that we can total the funds and place our order on December 2. The semis will deliver the supplies purchased for our Food Drop on December 14. We’ll load pickups and trailers to deliver the food to the food pantries and shelters. If you have interest in serving on December 14, please sign up HERE.

Thank you for your continued faithful giving! We are thankful for you. We can't wait to worship with you Sunday as we continue in our sermon series “Thank You Notes!"
