We See God at Work
Church family, we have seen God do some amazing things through our high school, middle school, and preteen camps this summer. He is also at work in the Middle East, as you will see further down in this email. Also, we can't wait to celebrate what God has done in several people’s lives as we come together at Burdette for an evening of baptisms and fun this Sunday!
Our Middle School Ministry (6th-8th grade) returned last weekend from their time at camp. 59 middle school students and 12 leaders went to Crossings Camp in Kentucky. Camp was a lot of fun! They played a ton of games, ate good food, made some new friends, and connected with each other on a deeper level. They also passionately worshiped God with the worship band “Heartsong” and were blessed by the preaching of God’s Word!
This was a very spiritually impactful four days for our students. The theme at camp this year was “Reconciled.” During their time at camp, each person was encouraged to think about their current relationship with God and whether or not they truly believe that the gospel is true. Some of our students made decisions to place their faith in Jesus alone! There were many students who made decisions to be “unashamed” followers of Jesus! And some students are still undecided about the gospel. Church, we ask that you please continue to pray for those who are still wrestling with the truths of the gospel, as well as those who are seeking to walk closely with God after camp.
Our Preteen Ministry (4th-5th grade) is coming home today. They have had a wonderful week at their own Crossings Camp. The gospel was shared at nearly every worship service, small group session, free time, game, and activity. It was incredible how many opportunities the camp took to give a clear gospel presentation to our students; it was literally infused into every detail of the week. Our students made some incredible memories as there was never a boring moment. The week has been full of energy with intentional times of making space to focus on the students’ relationships with Christ. Our 4th and 5th graders heard the gospel proclaimed, engaged with God's Word throughout the week, and experienced Christ-centered worship. Please be praying as these kids return. For the ones who are in Christ, please pray they would prioritize their walk with Jesus and be examples in their homes and schools. For the ones who haven’t surrendered to Jesus, please pray that they would have people (like their CFC family) step into their lives, plant more seeds, and water the ones that were planted this week. Pray that God would bring forth a harvest!
Also, you have the unique chance to hear how God is at work in the Middle East. If you want to be blessed and be an encouragement to others, come to the Beautiful Feet Class this Sunday at 10:45AM in Room 332 in the balcony. You will have the chance to learn from Engineering college student, Annie B, as she shares a report about her recent summer missions internship overseas.
Church, thank you for your prayers and your hearts of generosity! We are able to do so much with the money you give to support the ministry of this church. We will see you Sunday at service and again at our annual night at Burdette. We are excited to celebrate what God has done through the testimonies of those being baptized and share an evening together as a Church Family. See you soon!
