Solus Christus: Christ Alone

Read Acts 4:1-12
  1. Acts 4:12 states, “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” Why do you think the message of salvation through Christ alone was so central to the Reformation, and how does it challenge common beliefs or distractions in today’s world?
  2. According to 1 Timothy 2:5, Jesus is the sole mediator between God and humanity. What are some examples of things people might wrongly rely on (e.g., good works, rituals, or leaders) to bridge the gap caused by sin, and how can we encourage one another to trust only in Christ’s finished work on the cross?
  3. 1 Corinthians 3:11 describes Jesus as the only foundation for our faith. What are some “false foundations” (e.g., wealth, status, or self-reliance) that you’ve seen or experienced competing with Christ in your own life, and how can we practically build our lives on Jesus alone?
  4. Colossians 1:18 emphasizes that Jesus is “first in everything.” What are some distractions or cultural idols that can dilute our devotion to Christ, and how can we intentionally redirect our worship and priorities to give Him the “spotlight” in our lives?
  5. What is one area in your life where you feel challenged to recommit to trusting and glorifying Jesus alone, and how can this group support you in that commitment? Consider this: If the Father demonstrated his confidence in the Son to fulfill the mission for our salvation, how does your confidence in Christ alone demonstrate your readiness to trust Him with the crises in your life
