Sola Fide (Faith Alone)
  1. Read Romans 3:23-28. How does this passage illustrate that righteousness is a gift we receive through faith, not something we achieve through works?
  2. In Romans 4:1-3, Paul uses Abraham’s example to show that faith, not works, made him righteous before God. What does Abraham’s story teach us about what it means to have faith? How can we cultivate this kind of faith in our daily lives?
  3. Ephesians 2:10 states, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” How does this verse, alongside Romans 3:28, clarify that works are the fruit of salvation, not the root? Share an example of how your faith has led to good works in your life.
  4. Martin Luther said, “Faith alone makes someone just and fulfills the law; faith it is that brings the Holy Spirit through the merits of Christ.” How does this understanding of faith inspire us to share the gospel with others, as an application of Sola Fide? What challenges do you face in personal evangelism, and how can this group support you?
  5. The concept of Sola Fide calls us to personal faith, compels us to personal evangelism, and inspires corporate service. How can our faith in Christ alone motivate us to serve together as a group or church community? Brainstorm one or two practical ways our group can live out this calling through service.
