Staffing Update

Back in July, we shared exciting news about a new ministry initiative at CFC that will equip and raise up the next generation of church leaders through apprenticeships and residencies. As part of that update, we also shared that Adam Christian would step into a new role overseeing this ministry, which opened the door for some additional transitions in leadership.

We are now pleased to share the next step in this process. Beginning October 1, Kyle Carnahan will move from his role as Children’s Ministry Team Leader into the role of Adult and Family Ministry Team Leader. In this position, Kyle will lead our Adult Ministry Team with a focus on helping adults at CFC live as both disciples and disciplemakers in the context of meaningful relationships. Kyle will continue to serve as a resource for the Children’s Ministry Team, while he will turn his primary attention toward the discipleship of adults and families.

Along with this transition, Katie Carnahan will step into the role of Children’s Ministry Director. For many years, Katie has faithfully served as our Elementary Assistant Director, giving leadership and care to children, families, and volunteers. She will now oversee the vision and direction of CFC Kids, ensuring that our mission to help children know, grow, and show Jesus remains central in all we do. Katie is exceptional, and we look forward to her leadership in this area. Parents and children should be very excited!

We are also excited to announce that Kristi Valiant will join the Children’s Ministry Team part-time as Elementary Assistant Director. This will backfill the position that Katie will be vacating in October. Kristi and her husband Casey have attended CFC since 2006. Over the years, Kristi has contributed to both Children’s Ministry and Student Ministry as a high-capacity volunteer. Since 2020, she has served faithfully on the VBS Directors’ Team, working closely with Katie Carnahan and leading with excellence in both curriculum and volunteer coordination. Katie describes Kristi as someone with “the character and competency we would love to have on our team,” and we are thrilled for the gifts and passion she brings to this new role. Kristi is eager to step into this position, and we are excited to see how God will use her to impact the next generation at CFC.

Please join us in praying for Adam, Kyle, Katie, and Kristi as they step into these roles. Pray that God would grant them wisdom, joy, and endurance as they lead and that their work would bear much fruit for His glory.

We can’t wait to see you Sunday, CFC!
