How it Works:
Pick One - Choose a missionary to champion and sign up so they and the Team Captain knows.
Pray One - Engage in consistent, intentional prayer each week for them, (you can get specifics for prayer in the Power Connection).
Give One - Consider a recurring gift (even $5–$10/month) to provide support that is above and beyond one’s regular giving to CFC.
Background and Vision:
Dear friend, you are being faithful to God when you care for the traveling teachers who pass through, even though they are strangers to you.”— 3 John 5
In 3 John, the Lord’s “friends” are called to sustain His people on His mission—even those who are "strangers to us." Through loving friendship, those traveling for the G\gospel go from being unknown to being known and sent by the local body of Christ. The goal? “So that we can be their partners as they teach the truth” (3 John 8). Gospel partnership is a privilege for every Christian at CFC.
While this idea may seem new to some of us, long-time CFC members will find this idea of support teams and captains more familiar. In 2005, former global staff Cheryl Beckett asked for this exact kind of partnership as she followed the Lord to Afghanistan. She asked for our people to help her navigate the "expected unexpecteds" of life on the field. Because CFC cared for her through a support team and a captain, she could care for those who didn't know the Lord. Today, her legacy continues as we are invited to sustain those who are sent out today.
