WHAT IS DISCIPLESHIP ACADEMY CORE?
Discipleship is all about becoming more like Jesus, and part of that process is learning to read his words to us effectively, to think well about what he reveals of himself, and to apply this into our lives.
Discipleship Academy is designed to meet these needs, and has been created with new believers and seasoned disciples all in mind. Wherever you are in your discipleship journey, Discipleship Academy is designed to help you dig more deeply into your faith.
DURATION
Discipeship Academy CORE is a three-year program. You will sign up for a one year or a single class at a time and each year in the program lasts nine months on a trimester schedule (September-May). Each class is approximately ten weeks.
Weekly classes consist of lecture, discussion, and practical application. In-person lectures and discussion take place on Sundays at 9:15am or 6pm. Classes rotate on two different schedules to accommodate. The Sunday morning option follows the Story, Belief, Method schedule, the evening options follows the Method, Story, Belief schedule. The winter session will be from December 1- February 16 (with 2 weeks off for Christmas) with BELIEF at 9:15AM and STORY at 6PM. Sign up below by November 24.
The spring session starts March 2nd.
COST
Registration Cost is $25 per class or $60 if you bundle the entire year. This fee covers books, workbooks, and any other materials necessary for the three classes.

CLASSES
The Bible is 66 books written by over 40 authors in three languages over the course of 1,500 years and on three continents! At the same time, it is from beginning (Genesis) to end (Revelation) one unfolding story. In this class we will use the theme of "kingdom" to discover the storyline of Scripture. You will better realize your place in God's story when you know the story!

In this course, we will both learn and practice skills for interpreting the biblical text. We'll seek to understand each book as its author intended, and apply the text directly to our lives. Much of our time in class will be devoted to modeling and practicing biblical interpretation so each learner will be able to confidently engage the Bible.

Maybe you are new to the faith or have been a Christian a long time and you believe Jesus is the only way to eternal life, but you might be unsure of how belief in Him impacts your life now. Perhaps you don't fully understand the truths about Christianity you've been taught but you desire to gain a deeper understanding about what it means to be a Christian. Where do you start?

FAQ
Why does this cost $25 per class?
Each class has a required book and workbook. We will provide you with both before the first class so you don't have to bother with the hassel of purchasing them on your own.
Is childcare provided?
Classes are offered at two times, Sunday morning and Sunday evening. If you take the morning option, children are able to sign up for a second hour of Sunday School. There is no childcare option offered for the evening course.
Can I take more than one class at a time?
While we don't recommend this because of the workload, this is an option for individuals who may not be able to attend classes in some seasons.
Can I take a mixture of morning and evening classes throughout the year?
Yes! If your schedule changes, you may switch to a new time. Please email Adam.Christian@onlineCFC.com for a custom schedule.
Do I have to take all three classes?
You do not have to take all three but we STRONGLY encourage that you do. Regardless of how much you already know, there is always more to learn about God and you may hear something in a new way that enhances your thinking. Additionally, studying in a community setting has huge benefits.
Do I have to take these classes in a specific order?
No, you may take these classes in any order that works for your schedule!
Do I need to purchase a book?
No. Your registration fee covers the book and workbook. We will provide you with all of this before the first class.
What if I need to miss a class?
We get that things come up and sometimes you need to miss a class. Our hope is that you will attend at least 8 out of the 10 sessions to get the most out of these classes. If you find that you need to miss more, please talk with your instructor.

With the reading and the workbook combined, you can expect no more that 2 hours of homework per week, in addition to the hour and a half class session.
