Serving Teams


You can Love God and Love People by being part of a serving teams volunteering and working together to make this place what it is. Our serving teams combine all sorts of elements. We have six teams with many different roles for each team: first impressions, worship arts, children & students, building, events, and prayer & care. To join a team, complete the form at the bottom of this page.

  • From before the moment someone steps foot in our building we want to make them feel welcomed and a part of CFC. The first impressions team are those who care about the experience someone has during their time with us. Our desire is for everyone to feel the love of Jesus through our interactions with them.

    Check out some of the possible ways below to help us make a positive first impression:

    GreetersBe a welcoming and friendly face at our outside doors as people arrive to worship services.  You can serve every weekend before a specific service, or you can be a sub.  Contact  Denise Monroe. If you are on this team, click here to sign up for a shift.
    Welcome CenterWant to know a little about everything that happens at CFC and help those who have questions?  Join the Welcome Center staff.  You can serve every weekend during a specific service, or you can be a sub.     UshersHelp people feel welcome as they enter the worship center.  Ushers pass out bulletins, collect the offering, and help with communion.  Contact Denise Monroe.
    Bread MinistryIf a first time visitor fills out a welcome card, then we deliver homemade bread and a welcome note to their home.  You can volunteer by baking the bread or delivering it.  Contact Denise Monroe.
    Medical On-Call Team |  Medical Professionals, you can be part of an On-Call Team during services for urgent care needs that arise.  Contact Denise Monroe.


  • There are many elements involved in creating a worship experience, both musical and technical. A team of talented instrumental and vocal musicians together with a team of visually creative technicians produce an environment in which others experience Jesus and are compelled to worship Him.

    Practice is held during the week and training is available for all positions. If you’re interested in being a part of the Worship Arts team, check out some of the options below.

    Musical:
    Weekend Worship Team | Consisting of skilled band members and talented vocalists, this group seeks to lead the congregation in authentic worship.  Contact Maria Roate for more information.
    Voices of Praise Choir | This choir of men and women sings interesting hymn arrangements, dynamic spirituals, rich inspirational music and beautiful light classics. They are the “house choir” for CFC’s 8 AM Classic Venue Service.  Contact Steve Stewart for more information.
    Kids Choir | Children practice and perform in a summer performance and in the Christmas Concert.  Contact Jamie Frederick for more information. (S)

    Technical:
    Video Director | Managing what is seen on the video display screens helps focus our attention during worship services. Contact Paul Osburn for more information.
    Camera Operators | Providing a closer view of our weekend service and special events enhances our worship experiences. Contact Paul Osburn for more information. (S)
    Lighting | Controlling the lighting of a large room contributes to the intimacy of our time together. Contact Paul Osburn for more information. (S)
    Live Worship Sound Mixing | This is the art of combining and processing a number of audio signals from the Worship Team to create a “mix”.  The balance of these elements is to create a musically worshipful environment for the congregation and Worship Team.  Contact Mark Haymond for more information.
    Graphics | Running the program that controls lyrics, message notes, and videos guides others to participate in our services. Contact Paul Osburn for more information. (S)
    Stage Design | Creating backgrounds, decorations, sets, add elements for our sermon series. Contact Mark Haymond or Paul Osburn for more information.


  • The Children & Student serving teams are a part of our children’s, middle school, high school, and college ministries. There is an endless list of ways to be make a difference for the future in the lives of children and students. Check out details about the following ministries below.

    CFC Kids Children’s MinistryThe Children’s Ministry offers something for everyone from construction, decorating, and painting, to greeting children and parents and helping with check-in, to helping prepare classrooms, to working directly with elementary kids, toddlers, or babies. You can also work with special needs children, or help out during our 5 night Vacation Bible School in the summer. If you’d like to learn more. Contact Juli Gardner for more information.

    Middle School MinistryVolunteer on Sunday mornings, be a group or discussion leader, help with special events, or be on the prayer shield team. The middle school years are a great opportunity to help children make good choices and live for Jesus.     High School Ministry | If you love Jesus and like High School students we’ll help you plug into a place appropriate for you such as small group leader, prayer shield, Sunday morning volunteer, or event volunteer. Contact Robbie Roate or Juli Gardner for more information.

    College Ministry | If you have a heart for college students, you can volunteer to cook a meal, join our group discussions on Sunday mornings, or simply share a cup of coffee and conversation with a student during the week. Contact Travis May for more information.

  • Though it is the people who make up the church, we are incredibly thankful for the building in which we gather. The Building Team consists of people who take care of the campus both inside and outside, manage the services we provide, help set-up and arrange rooms and environments, and manage various resources. Check out the various roles below or contact Andy Hanson to get plugged in.

    Interior/Exterior:
    Cleaning & Maintenance | Helping maintain a clean and functioning building makes others feel welcome as they join us. Contact Andy Hanson. (S)
    Set-up & Decoration | This ministry helping to make the church look its best can be either a regular commitment, just for events, or on an as-needed basis. Contact Andy Hanson. (S)
    Christmas DecoratingHelp put up and take down the Christmas decorations throughout the church. Contact Andy Hanson. (S)
    Landscaping | Adopt a spot on your own or with your family or small group.  You can also help during our spring and fall clean up days.  This is a great outdoor ministry that can often be done on your time schedule.  Contact Andy Hanson. (S)
    Worship Center Stocking Crew | The Worship Center is cared for by people who can faithfully stock pens and Bibles. This can be done on a flexible schedule. Contact Kathy Wilkinson.

    Customer Service:
    LibraryMany in the CFC family stop by the library off the main foyer to check out children’s books, fiction and non-fiction, or materials for a small group.  This ministry is a 1-2 times per month commitment. Contact Karen Ball. (S)
    Audio/Video Library Volunteer | The Audio Visual Library at CFC has DVD movies for all ages, a multitude of DVDs for small groups as well as educational DVDs and VHS for children.  It is located in the alcove off the foyer near the children’s wing. Work 1-2 30 minutes shifts per month assisting patrons.  No computer experience necessary. Instructions are easy.  Contact Andy Hanson. (S)
    CD Duplication and Sales | Did you know that you can get a copy of the message right after the service ends?  Many do, and volunteers help make copies of the CD and sell them as needed.  This is a 1-2 times per month commitment.  Contact Kathy Wilkinson.
    Bookstore Cashier | If you are comfortable handling money and a computer, or have retail or display skills, this 1-2 times per month commitment helping patrons in the CFC Bookstore might be a fit for you. Contact Denise Monroe.
    Coffee Shop Barista | If you desire to serve in a friendly environment and have the gift of encouragement, you should try volunteering in the coffee shop!  This is a 2-3 times per month commitment.  Contact Denise Monroe. (S)

    Heavy Lifting:
    Moving | When someone in the CFC family moves, help them carry boxes and furniture to their new location.  We especially need people with trucks.  This is a ministry where you can respond if the timing fits your schedule.  Contact Andi Miller. (S)
    Stage Set-up Crew | If you can lift and carry, and are available at least one Wednesday night a month, considering joining this ministry to help get the stage ready for weekend services.  Contact Mark Haymond or Paul Osburn. (S)
    Scoop Troop | Helping clear the steps and sidewalks for our weekend services during the winter months creates a safe pathway for others to join us. Contact Andy Hanson.

    Vehicle:
    Van Driver | Be a part of a rotation of drivers that pick up members of the CFC Family that need a ride to church or that help with transportation of students to camps, retreats, or other special events.  You will drive the church van. Contact Alice Casey.
    Van Maintenance | You can be a blessing by changing the oil and performing routine maintenance on the vans used for church activities. This is done on an as-needed basis.  Contact Andy Hanson.

  • At our special events, we can serve the community around us as well as our own members. You can serve for one specific event or be someone we can call on for various events held throughout the year. Contact Andi Miller for details about upcoming events.

    Special Event Team |  You can help set up for or serve at the various special events during the year. Contact Andi Miller. (S)
    Autumn Fest | The opportunities to serve are abundant in this outreach event in late October.  You can help with set up, tear down, cooking, food booths, children’s games, etc.  This is one of our largest outreach events to our community.  Watch for more information on our website as the event nears, or contact Andi Miller.     Concerts | CFC hosts many different concerts and events throughout the year.  You can be part by volunteering for loading the equipment in and out, selling merchandise, serving as an usher, or selling tickets during weekend services leading up to the event.  Contact Andi Miller. (S)
    Food Drop |  For the past few years, CFC has collected a special Thanksgiving Offering to help feed the hungry in the tri-state.  You can be Jesus’ Hands and Feet by helping to unload the semis and deliver food to area food pantries, shelters, or soup kitchens.  Contact Andi Miller. (S)

  • We can Love God and Love People by spending time with the Father in prayer and being compassionate to others around us. Prayer groups pray both individually and gather together on a weekly or monthly basis. Care groups unleash compassion by looking not only to their own interests but also to the interests of others.

    Prayer:
    Prayer Room | The mission of those who pray in the prayer room during weekend services is to intercede for the speaker, worship team, the entire worship service, those who serve in any capacity, and for all the classes and activities during that morning or evening.  Contact Judy Niednagel. (S)
    Care Prayer Responders | The mission of the Care Prayer Responder is to pray at home daily for some of the prayer requests turned in on weekends and for a few other critical needs, as they come up. Contact Judy Niednagel . (S)
    Prayer Shield Teams for Pastors & Directors | The mission of the Prayer Shield Team member is to pray regularly for his/her designated pastor or ministry director.  Contact Paulette Johns. (S)
    Prayer Weavers | If you enjoy knitting and know the importance of praying for our children, join this ministry to make booties for new babies and pray for these babies and their families.  Contact Andree Beaver. (S)
    Circle of Friends Quilting | This group meets together on Monday afternoons to make a quilt donated to raise money for IMPACT Ministries in our inner city. Contact Andree Beaver.

    Care:
    Hospital and Nursing Home Visitation | You can unleash compassion by regularly visiting CFC family members who are at a hospital or nursing home to encourage and comfort them.  The schedule is flexible.  Contact Cliff Herring. (S)
    Bereavement | If you’ve experienced the loss of a loved one, then you understand the need for fellowship after a funeral.  Join the Bereavement Ministry, and be a part of the team that provides, serves, and cleans up after these meals.  Maybe you do all 3 of those things.  But if cooking isn’t your speciality, you can just help serve and clean up.  Or, you can bring something to contribute to the meal if you can’t be there to help.  Contact Peggy Devillez.     Wedding Representative | You can unleash compassion and show the love of our church to couples going through one of the most exciting times of their life.  You’ll be the couple’s main contact for the church facilities and process, and be there to help during the rehearsal and wedding.  Contact Sheryl Walts.
    Financial Counseling | If you have a head for money and a heart for helping others in financial need manage their finances in a Godly way, consider this ministry that is done on an as-needed basis. Contact Andy Hanson.
    College Lunch | Here is another way to cook.  Help to cook and serve a home-cooked meal to the students in the college ministry after the 10:45 service on Sundays.  This is approximately a once a month commitment.  Contact Charlotte Pfeiffer. (S)
    Meals to Moms | Make and deliver a homemade meal to new moms in the CFC family.  The schedule is flexible, and you can expect to serve only 2-4 times per year.  Contact Andree Beaver.(S)
    Friendship to Internationals | Befriend an international college student in school locally.  Students are paired with a host family who shares occasional meals, goes together on outings, offers times of conversation, and helps these students feel at home while being away from home.  You can be a blessing as your life is enriched.  You could also prepare food for events, offer prayer support, or drive students to events.  Contact Casey Valiant.
    Spanish-Speaking Ministry | Help us to connect with the Spanish speaking community in our area to form relationships and share Jesus.  Contact Mike Deeg. (S)
    Ministry to Widows | The Bible clearly states that we are to help widows and orphans.  As a part of the Ministry to Widows, you will be part of a group that is contacted when a need arises.  If it’s something that you can help with, then you respond.  We also have some options for pairing directly with a widow with no family near for companionship.
