This is not an event that is great to bring young kids with you if they need your attention.  Although there is quite a bit of downtime if you are a race marshall, you must be very attentive to your post while they are racing.  There is a playground, so if you have someone to watch the kids, it is ok to bring them.

If you can’t volunteer, just come out and watch the races or bring your kids out to the kid’s bike rodeo.

In addition to the races, the River City Bicycle Classic will include:

• Festival (begins @ 10AM) with food, sponsor and business vendor tents. A kid’s bike rodeo will be held in conjunction with the Evansville Bicycle Club. There will also be live music.
• Celebrity Race of local celebrities (begins @ 1:10PM)

A portion of the race proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville.

We are as committed as ever to our student ministry, and we have made improvements in the room that they meet in. We continue to strive to reach and strengthen students however we can.  It is an important and critical time in their lives.

Some of you contributed to the Hanger project.  We want you to know that all of the money that was dedicated to the Hanger project was used for the design phase.  We will always strive to use money as it is intended.

We saw the Hanger as a tool to reach students.  Tools for ministry can be helpful, but they aren’t always necessary.  Our staff will continue to pour into the lives of students and love them into the Kingdom of God.

Pastor Dale is providing us with weekly STUDY QUESTIONS to help us learn more from each week’s message.

Our wedding reps usually help with 1-2 weddings per year, and can be a great blessing to the happy couple by helping them with the details related to the use of the church.

You would meet with the bride to help her know what is available here at CFC for her to use, then meet again 3 weeks before wedding to finalize details.  On the weekend of the wedding, you would attend both the rehearsal and the wedding, arriving about 2 hours or so before the start time to assist the couple with any last minute details regarding use of the church.  Contact Sheryl Walts if interested via email or at 867-6464.

Here is just another resource we’d love for you to know about in the Family Ministry at CFC.  Several of us on staff will be watching this and encourage you to join us.  Even if your kids are a little or a lot younger, this is a great way to get ahead of the game!

In fact, youth today will need to wait longer than any other generation before sex if they intend on following God’s design for sex in marriage. Is it even possible for a young adult to wait until marriage anymore? With the onslaught of porn, the definition of sex being blurred, and questions that are only getting more challenging to answer, there is a growing need for a new conversation that is both honest and helpful. Join CPYU President, Walt Mueller, and our Sexual Integrity Initiative Director, Jason Soucinek, as they engage in some of these questions and help youth workers, parents and church leadership navigate the world of our youth when it comes to sex and relationships. But becoming an owner is much more significant. You become an owner by investing. Sometimes owners invest money. Most every owner invests time. How are you investing at CFC? We have some incredible opportunities to invest in the lives of our children on Sunday mornings. CFC Kids is an exciting ministry that can allow you to invest and be blessed.
