READ THIS INFORMATION BEFORE FILLING OUT A TEAM MEMBER APPLICATION
Former Short Term Team Members: If you have submitted an application and have been accepted for a team within the last three years, please complete a Team Member Reactivation Form. A deposit is required with your Reactivation Form – $100 for international trips; $25 for domestic trips.
A deposit is required at the time of application for CFC Teams, which is applied to your total expense — $100 for international trips; $25 for domestic trips. You can pay the deposit by check or via PayPal on the application form. If the deposit is an obstacle for you to apply, please contact the Global Outreach Office at 812-867-6464. Once the team is determined, your deposit will be returned if you are not approved. If you are unable to go for personal reasons, the deposit will be applied to the team expenses. Checks should be made payable to CFC with your name and the mission trip noted on the memo line.
Please carefully read the information about your FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. Airline tickets purchased in your name are your responsibility if the funds do not come in. We equip you to raise support for your funds well in advance, but in the end, you are responsible for any incurred expenses. All funds must be in prior to departure. We do trust God for your finances and encourage you to do the same. However, you need to know your responsibility ahead of time. By filling in your name in the signature area on this form, you agree that you have read and agree to these terms. If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or guardian must also sign.
You may be asked to INTERVIEW with the Global Outreach Short Term Leadership Selection Team. This team consists of your team leader(s) and two of the G.O. STLT members. The purpose of an interview is manifold: to clarify any questions on your application; if you are new to short term missions, to address your questions as well as ours; to further discuss any circumstances, health issues or other things that will help you and us understand if this is the right trip and the right time for you to go; to consider your team contribution; etc. They will contact you if an interview is requested. Please do not be afraid, we interview to come alongside you and to get better acquainted!
Please be aware that your commitment in application is for a training discipleship process that requires team meetings prior to the trip and debriefing after the trip. It is like joining a small group for about 6 months, not just a one or two week trip.
Complete and submit the application by the APPLICATION DEADLINE for the team for which you are applying. If there are more applicants than can be on the team, the date and time the application is received at the office may be a determining factor in the selection process.
REFERENCES are part of the application. You are to give the names of two references on the application, and it is YOUR responsibility to give the link to reference form to those two persons. Both reference forms must be returned to Global Outreach Office (Andi Miller) or submitted online no later than 1 week AFTER the deadline of the particular project or team.
- Disciple Trips are a journey of introducing people to Jesus, becoming more like Jesus, and loving like Jesus.
Who qualifies?… humble and teachable team players, shepherding leaders, and all who desire to serve Christ. Each team consists of leaders, senders who pray and give, goers, and field hosts who receive the team.
The Global Outreach team invites you to be a part of a disciple trip in three ways:
PRAY. Pray for a team while they’re training. Pray for a team when they’re on-field. Pray for their support, their travel, their health, and their safety. Pray for the labor they will do and the relationships they are building.GIVE. Give of your resources to send a team. Give toward their flights, transportation, visas, food, and lodging. Send a team to their location and provide for their needs while they are there.
GO. Go to a location that is not your home. Hop on a plane, step on a bus, ride in a van, or whatever the transportation requires. Set aside your time to do the work with your own hands and your own words alongside others on your team.
Have questions? Email Andi Miller or Mike Deeg.
